About Pathway Interventions

One may
ask why would we want to expose ourselves to
such emotional and spiritual pain that is
involved in an intervention? Our answer is, “We
do not want to see people suffering from
substance dependency and addiction.” We have
traveled the road of addiction; We understand
the pain and suffering that substance usage has
placed on the people who cared about the addict
most. When someone hits rock bottom they are
spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically,
socially and financially bankrupt. At this point
friends and family do not know what else to do
for the addict. When all of the family is sick
and tired of the lies, erratic behavior, bizarre
mood swings, manipulation and lack of self-care,
we want to step in and help! When you have
finally reached that point of “What else can I
do?” you may now be finding yourself wanting to
give up. This is when we can to help! We
believe and know intervening is the best thing
that should happened, not only for the addicts
overall well-being, but for the family’s sanity.
If our clients could change anything about past
it would be: “I wish we would have done the
intervention sooner!”
From the President of
Pathway Interventions:
I was an addict for 15 years. I used anything I
could get my hands on that would let me escape from
feeling. I would drink until I was belligerent,
smoke pot until I was in a coma, and drop acid until
the chemical was not affecting me anymore. I would
snort, shoot and swallow any kind of pain-killer. I
would use enough cocaine and crack to give any
healthy person a heart attack. I know what it is
like to wake up every morning worrying about how I
was going to get my next fix. I have been to the
point of complete exhaustion but still found a way
to use. I have been in the same place as the person
you need to help. “I have been to the bottom and
back!” If my family and friends did not use the
approach of intervening, I would not have made it! I
would be dead!
I am a C.N.D.A.I (Certified National Drug and
Alcohol Interventionist) and have had training for
the A.R.I.S.E Model of Intervening. I am very
passionate about what we do and we offer effective
methods to help you and your loved one. I have 15
years of experience in the field of addiction. I
have been trained in several styles of interventions
and have facilitated interventions all over the
United States. I have worked for several treatment
centers located in Salt Lake City, Utah and
Scottsdale, Arizona helping others just like you and
your loved one. I have been there, I know all the
excuses, tricks and manipulation an addict uses and
typical behavioral patterns that an addict displays.
It is you and your family who intervenes. My job is
to help you correctly and effectively approach
you’re loved one in a
supportive, non-threatening or non-judgmental
fashion in order to get the one you’re concerned
about into treatment. There is nothing more exciting
to use than to be a part of God’s work and to
witness a family coming together for one purpose: to
get your loved one into treatment.
Sincerely,
Travis Gardner C.N.D.A.I.
